Girls' Basketball Defeats Mavericks

The Varsity Girls Basketball team got a great win in the HCC last night against McCutcheon, 56-48.  The Dogs had a 11-10 lead after 8 minutes of action, fueled by Hannah Mingus' 7 points.  The teams matched baskets in the second quarter, each scoring 13 points.  The Dogs entered half up 24-23.   With several lead changes and ties, the Dogs finally took the lead for good mid way through the 4th quarter.  The Dogs held strong in the final minutes.  The Dogs outscored the Mavs 17-11 in the fourth.  Aliyah Walker was awesome inside, down the stretch, guaranteeing the Dogs' a victory. 

 

Hannah Mingus finished with a team high 15 points, hitting 3 threes on the night.  Hannah also grabbed 9 boards.  Aliyah Walker added 14 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 steals.  Reilly Olmstead showed her mental toughness, scoring 11 - hitting 4 of 4 from the charity stripe.  Hannah Linville had a great performance, with 10 points and 3 steals.  Hannah also did a great job defending McCutcheon's speedy guard.  Devin Courtney stepped up big in the 4th quarter, nailing two threes to finish the night.
