Girls' Tennis Nets Back-to-Back Wins

The Girls' Varsity and JV Tennis Teams opened the season with back-to-back wins on Friday and Saturday.  TheVarsity mastered a 5-0 score in very gusty winds to take Friday's match against Decatur Central. Morgan Bettner, Kara Mehringer, and Payton Haygood took home all the singles' points.  The dynamic duos of Michaela Hoffa/Katie Wamsley and Lily House/Hailey Blood completed the shut-out by claiming both doubles' matches against the Hawks.  

On Saturday afternoon, the Varsity team won an exciting 3-2 decision over Terre Haute South. Singles' players Kara Mehringer and Payton Haygood scored straight set victories with very smart play.  With the match tied at 2-2, number two doubles teammates Lily House and Hailey Blood clinched the match in a three set marathon!
