Girls' Tennis Celebrates Senior Night

The girls' varsity tennis team did not have a good performance in the HCC tournament this past weekend, finishing in 8th place.  However, the girls recovered quickly from the disappointing tournament play and rebounded with a nice 5-0 Senior Night win on Monday night over Plainfield.   Senior Nicole Weisman had a quick straight set win on her number one singles court.  Morgan Bettner pulled in a straight set victory at two singles, and Senior Pooja Patel swept the last point for singles with a win on her court.  Senior Yolandi Geldenhuis and Senior Shelby Hornback put together some great "combo" points to dominate in their number one doubles match.  Number two doubles teammates, Taylor Doehrman and Kristina Petrovic, used a disciplined approach to collect the final point for the Bulldogs.  The varsity will enter sectional play at 5 pm on Thursday at Plainfield.  The Bulldogs will play the winner of the Avon-Danville match.  Once again, congratulations to Seniors Yolandi Geldenhuis, Kelsey Henry, Shelby Hornback, Pooja Patel, Manager Shelby Stainfield, and Nicole Weisman!
