Tennis Goes 1-1 on the Weekend

The girl's varsity tennis team had a busy weekend.  On Friday night, the 'Dogs traveled to Noblesville and lost by a razor-thin margin 3-2.   Number one singles Morgan Bettner played her heart out in a three hour and fifteen minute marathon, losing in the third set 7-5.  Pooja Patel, playing in the two position, also battled for three hours and lost a tie-break in the third set.  Yolandi Geldenhuis cruised to victory in the three singles spot to claim a point.  Our number one doubles tandem, Shelby Hornback and Nicole Weisman, defeated a conference doubles title contender in straight sets to win the final point. 

On Saturday morning, the varsity rebounded well with a 4-1 decision over Lafayette Jeff.  Morgan Bettner was first off the courts, dropping only one game in her #1 singles match.  Yolandi Geldenhuis followed quickly with her second win in a row at three singles.  Both doubles teams of Nicole Weisman/Shelby Hornback and Kristina Petrovic/Taylor Doehrman pulled in the final two points for the Bulldogs with solid straight set wins.
