Girls' Tennis goes 1-2 on the Weekend

The girls' varsity tennis team came in third place in the Brownsburg Invitational this past Saturday.  In the first round, the Bulldogs defeated Western Boone with a 5-0 score.  Nicole Weisman, Morgan Bettner, and Pooja Patel used very steady play to collect all of the singles points.  The doubles teams of Yolandi Geldenhuis/Shelby Hornback and Taylor Doehrman/Kelsey Henry exhibited some tough teamwork to keep the Stars off the scoreboard.  In the second round, the 'Dogs met #21 Columbus East and lost 3-2.  The doubles teams of Geldenhuis-Hornback and Doehrman-Henry pulled off some magic again to claim both doubles points for the home team.  In the final round, the Bulldogs faced #29 West Lafayette Harrison and lost a tight competition 3-2.  Nicole Weisman executed a great game plan to win her #1 singles match, and Morgan Bettner had an incredible comeback to win the number two spot.  Pooja Patel went down with any injury with her match tied at 4-4.  Both doubles teams put up a fierce fight but could not overcome the opposition.
