Bulldogs Blank Danville

After a very sluggish first half, the Bulldogs turned it on early in the second half to secure a 5-0 win over county rival Danville on Monday.  Coach George and Coach Vaughn were not happy at all with the first half performance and the girls responded in a positive way in the second half with 3 early goals and a goal with under 5 minutes.  The second half as Coach George said, "are the type of performances we need on a more regular basis. We have not put two good halves yet together in a game.  That can be looked at as a positive or a negative.  The negative side is we are getting off to slow starts or the positive is the best is yet come.  Once we string some halves together and get full games out of the girls then we could put a special brand of soccer on the field." Coach George was able to save some legs for their match against number 12 in the state, Cathedral, on Wednesday.  He got 24 girls into the match.  "I always try to see the bigger picture with these girls.  We have a busy week ahead with a lot of games.  A win on Wednesday would be huge momentum heading in to this weekend at the North Central Invite as well as next Wednesday against Avon," said Coach George.  Notables for the Game: Allison Hieston- 3 Goals, Grace Ulmer 1 Goal, Macey Lee 1 Goal, Kylie Beil 2 assists, Carrie Lawson 2 assists, Mapuana Stephens 1 assist, Mackenzie Caron shutout.
