Westfield Defeats Brownsburg

The Brownsburg Bulldogs softball team was back in action on Friday evening and lost the battle to a resilient Westfield Shamrock team 6-3.  Brownsburg scored first in the bottom of second inning with a solo HR from Elissa Brown over the RC field fence.  Unfortunately that would be the last lead that the Bulldogs would have for the game as the Shamrocks scored 2 runs in the top of the third and another in the fourth.  Brownsburg scored again in the bottom of the fourth when Brandy Mowery and Kyleigh Anderson singled followed by a deep fly to LC by Brianna Harbin that scored Anderson.  Westfield added 3 more runs in the seventh inning and the Bulldogs fell short in their comeback with 1 run in the bottom of the seventh.  Elissa Brown led the Bulldogs at the plate going 2-3 with a HR and 2 RBI's while Ally Carver and Brandy Mowery also contributed 2 hits.  The Bulldogs are back in action Monday evening at 5:30pm as they travel to Carmel to play the Greyhounds.
