Varsity Volleyball at Brebeuf Invite

Varsity Volleyball went 2-2 at the Brebeuf Invite this Saturday. 

In the first match, the Bulldogs went up against Hamilton Southeastern and ended 1-2 with set scores of 20-25, 26-24 and 12-15. Defensive leaders were sophomore Kendall Meller and freshman Quinci Thomas with 2 blocks each, freshman Ella Hemmings with 15 digs and senior Katie Hardegree with 8 digs. Offensive leaders were senior Skyy Smith with 9 kills, freshman Thomas with 7 kills, senior Hardegree with 13 assists and junior Cate Murphy with 11 assists.

Against Bloomington South, the Dogs went 2-0 with set scores of 25-18 and 25-17. Defensive leaders were freshman Thomas with 2 blocks and senior Ashley Margetts with 5 digs. Offensive leaders were senior Margetts with 8 kills, freshman Thomas with 7 kills and senior Hardegree with 13 assists. 

Bishop Chatard put up a good fight and the Bulldogs went 1-2 against them with set scores of 25-19, 25-27 and 12-15. Defensive leads were juniors Maddie Smith and Jaelyn Keown with 8 digs and 5 digs, respectively. Offensive leads were freshman Thomas with 14 kills, sophomore Meller with 9 kills and senior Hardegree with 23 assists. 

The Volleydogs ended the day with a 2-0 win over Green Castle with set scores of 25-18 and 25-11. Defensive leads were freshman Hemmings with 8 digs and senior Hardegree with 6 digs. Offensive leads were sophomore Meller with 9 kills, senior Marah Wood with 7 kills, senior Hardegree with 18 assists and junior Morgan Syoen with 7 assists. 

Volleyball is back on Thursday, October 3rd at Zionsville. Freshman and JV will start at 5:30 PM with Varsity to follow.
