Girls Track & Field Competes at State Tournament

Girls Track & Field Competes at State Tournament

It was a big day for three members of the Brownsburg Girls' Track Teas as they represented their team and participated in the 2013 State Championship Track Meet. Freshman Claire Hathaway placed 17th out of 32 of the state's best long jumpers with a jump of 17ft 2in. Not only was this an overall great finish for the new school record holder, she was also just 1 of 4 freshmen in the entire field and finished ahead of 3 of them. Stephanie Mavunga was the top finisher for the Dogs on the day placing 16th out of 28 competitors in the shot put with a throw of 38ft 10in. This solid finish capped off a streak of not losing a single meet for her entire outdoor senior season, which also happened to be her first! Finishing up the day was Senior Sibong Ncube as she made an impressive 3rd straight trip to the State Championship in the 110m hurdles. Sibong placed 21st out of a tough field of 27 hurdlers and achieved her best time in her 3 trips to this meet at 15.8 seconds. Congratulations to these ladies on a great day and a great track season!
