Bulldogs Open County Tournament With Victory Over Tri-West

The varsity girls' basketball team recovered from a slow start against a tough Tri-West team to down the Bruins 66-35 in the first round of the Hendricks County Tournament. 

The Bruins jumped out to a quick lead scoring 14 points in the first quarter and leading the Dogs by five, 14-9.  Allison DeVaney began the Dogs' attack in the second quarter scoring six points off of two steals and an offensive rebound.  DeVaney finished the night with eight points and three rebounds. 

The Dogs entered the halftime break up by four, 22-18.  Stephanie Mavunga scored 16 of her game high 18 points in the second half and grabbed nine rebounds. 

Lindsey Dall hit 4 - 9 from the field and finished the night with eight points and six boards.  Ryne Carr did a great job defensively and finished with seven points and six rebounds. 

Erika Lesch and Morgan Miller combined for 14 points and six rebounds.  Miller dished out five assists. 

The Bulldogs will face Avon in the semifinals on Thursday night.
