JV Competes

The Boys JV track and field team competed last night at home against Avon and Plainfield. The Bulldogs finished second in the competition, losing by only 6 points to Avon. In the field events, the pole vaulters had a strong outing for the Bulldogs. Kyle Flandermeyer vaulted higher than anyone has this year for the Bulldogs, clearing 11 feet and taking 1stplace. Matthew Albert also had a PR taking 2nd and clearing 10-6. The Bulldogs got two 2nd place finishes out of the high jump (Richard Lang) and the long jump (Grant Lowe). In the throwing events, Kaiden Warren won both the shot put and the discus throwing over 44 feet in the shot put and over 130 in the discus. Dane Middlebrook took 2nd in the discus as well. On the track, the Bulldogs started strong taking 1st (Tyrone Griffin) and 2nd (Donovan Marcus) in the 110 meter hurdles. Both hurdlers ran PR's in the event and Freshman Donovan Marcus is within a couple tenths of a second of the Freshman school record. Austin Alley won the mile and broke 5 minutes in the event for the first time all year. DaShaun Johnson was 2nd in the 400 running a PR in the event. Tyrone Griffin won the 300 meter hurdles running a PR of 43.4 and Cade Shupperd took 2nd in the race. In the final event of the night, the 4x400 meter relay team of Trey Fisher, Jacob Risser, DaShaun Johnson, and Kyle Davis finished 1st, edging out Avon's team. The Bulldogs are back in action Thursday night at Zionsville where they will compete in the HCC Conference meet.
