Plainfield Ends Bulldogs Season with 4-1 Sectional Victory

The boys' tennis team had an outstanding match against fifth ranked Plainfield on Saturday in the sectional semifinal.  While the 'Dogs lost 4-1, they fought it out on every court and nearly pulled the upset.

Mitchell Trammel had a very competitive match at #1 singles.  Tyler Hornback pushed his opponent to three sets, one of which was determined by a tie-break.  Although #3 Sam Gentry lost his first set, he quickly found his way back on track in the second set and came close to going into a third.

Patrick Clark and Daniel Heinekamp earned the team's point point by winning at #1 doubles, and  Michael Hartnagel and Nathan Mehringer lost in a three-set squeaker at the #2 doubles spot.

The #16 Bulldogs finished the season with a 14-4 record while playing in one of the toughest tennis conferences in the state.

Clark and Heinekamp's victory allows them to continue in the individual doubles' tournament on Tuesday at Ben Davis.
