Boys' Swim Team Claims Hendricks County Title

The Bulldog boys' swimming & diving team pulled off a total team effort on Saturday, out-dueling the Plainfield Quakers down to the wire and beating their local rival 298-295 to reclaim the Hendricks County championship.

Senior Eric Waggoner was the lone champion for the boys, claiming individual titles in the 50 & 100 Freestyle, two events where all three Bulldog swimmers finished in the top six places for important team points. Senior Matt Phillips was fourth (50 Free) and sixth (100 Free) while freshman Bradley Green (50 Free) and junior Joel Paquin (100 Free) added fifth place finishes respectively.

Phillips and Waggoner teamed with seniors Jared Sadtler and Jared Woodings to finish second in the 200 Medley Relay, while Paquin, Waggoner, Woodings and junior Brian Collins completed an important second place finish in the 400 Freestyle Relay to seal the victory for the boys.

In another big event for the Bulldogs late in the meet, Woodings finished third in the 100 Backstroke, followed by senior Mike Fouch and sophomore Kasey Cross in fifth and sixth respectively. Fouch was second in the 100 Butterfly, with Green close behind in third.

The Bulldog boys (1-2) return to action on Friday, December 31, traveling to Purdue University for the Lafayette Harrison Endurance Invitational beginning at 10:30 a.m.
