Bulldogs Survive Overtime Thriller at Terre Haute South

The varsity football team advanced in the state tournament on Friday with a thrilling come from behind overtime victory at Terre Haute South High School, 28-21.

The Bulldogs came out flat and spotted the host Braves a 21 point lead.  The Dogs also turned the ball over five times, missed an extra point and missed a field goal on the evening.

Despite the adversity the team rallied to score two touchdowns in the second quarter to bring the half time score to 21-13.

Isaac Beverstock scored his third touchdown with one minute to go in the game bringing the Dogs within two points.  Robby Robbins then took the ball into the end zone for the season saving two point conversion.

In OT, Robbins scored on the second play from scrimmage and the extra point was good for the winning margin.

Despite having to play on a short field most of the night, the defense pitched a shut out in the second half and overtime.

The team has now earned the opportunity to host the second round of the tourney and will face the Avon Orioles this Friday at 7 pm at BHS.
