Varsity Football Opens Season With 56-14 Rout of McCutcheon

The varsity football team opened the season Friday night with an explosive performance, beating the McCutcheon Mavericks 56-14. 

The Bulldogs fielded the opening kickoff and promptly marched 80 yards for a touchdown on their first drive of the season, and then never looked back.  On McCutcheon's first possession, the defense created the opportunity for a quick second score, causing a fumble while sacking the quarterback. 

On the night Robby Robbins rushed for 123 yards on 7 carries and scored 4 rushing touchdowns, he also threw a touchdown pass to Jordan Reagan. 

Isaac Beverstock, Kennedy Hill and Grant Wysong also scored rushing touchdowns. 

Defensively, Steele Neese had a sack, caused a fumble and recovered a fumble; Derrick Tatum had multiple tackles and also recovered a fumble, while sophomore Garret Isch grabbed his first varsity interception. 

The team travels to Noblesville this Friday night to take on the Millers.
