The No.1 ranked Brownsburg varsity wrestling team swept their three duals at the opening day of the 14th Annual Don Flavin DeKalb Invitational in DeKalb, Illinois. The Bulldogs dominated three schools from the state of Illinois en route to a "Wayne Miller" bracket championship in the group stage. The Bulldogs will wrestle in the pool stage tomorrow.

  • Eleven Bulldogs went undefeated on the day
  • 106-pound Logan Miller and 285-pound Dorian Keys both won all three of their matches by fall
  • 120-pound Gavin Garcia came away with two wins over wrestlers who are ranked in the top-fifteen of the IWCOA Class 3A individual rankings
  • 220-pound Leighton Jones took down the 8th ranked wrestler in the IWCOA Class 3A individual rankings in the final match of the day

Brownsburg will continue to Day 2 of the Don Flavin DeKalb Invitational. The Bulldogs will be grouped with the three other first place finishers from the group stage today. That group includes the Illinois Class 3A No.2 DeKalb, Oak Park River Forest (IL) and Wisconsin Division I No.2 Mukwonago.
