Bulldogs Advance in Sectional Action

The Varsity Softball team played two great games over Memorial weekend, improving their record to 18-12.  The Bulldogs added two wins, beating Bishop Chatard (8-0) and Terre Haute South (11-1).

Friday's contest against Bishop Chatard was Brownsburg's last regular season game.  The Bulldogs had some hot bats, combining for 13 hits on the night.  Jessica Doctor was the winning pitcher, allowing only two hits and striking out 5 batters.  Lucy Paczkowski, Ally Carver, Carlie Weaver, and Lindsey Stahl were in the zone, generating some timely offense.  Paczkowski finished 3-4 with a double and a RBI, while Carver finished 2-3 with 2 doubles and 2 Runs scored.  Weaver and Stahl also added a double each, combining for 4 hits and 3 RBIs.  

Timing for a hot offensive performance couldn't be any better.  The Bulldogs started Sectional play on Memorial Day.  Brownsburg defeated Terre Haute South in the first round of Sectional play with a score of 11-1.  Weaver was the winning pitcher for Brownsburg.  The Bulldogs had 13 hits on the afternoon with 0 errors.  Heather Reed was on fire at the plate.  Reed crushed back-to-back home runs, finishing 2-4, collecting 3 RBIs.  Paczkowski added a HR of her own, finishing 2-3 with 4 RBIs.  Carver was 3-4 and Weaver was 2-3 with 4 RBIs.

Brownsburg hopes to continue their hot offensive streak tonight, when they face off against Plainfield High School in Round 2 of Sectional Play.  The Bulldogs play at PHS this evening at 7:00.
