Boys Basketball Beats Avon

Boys Basketball Beats Avon

Friday the boys & girls basketball teams travelled to Avon for a big rivalry matchup.  After the girls team won the bell for the purple and white, it was the boys turn to hang on to it and ring it once more.  A big three at the buzzer game Avon an 8-7 first quarter lead after a sluggish first quarter for both teams.  Brownsburg ended the second quarter on a 7-0 run that propelled the visiting bulldogs to a 22-17 halftime lead.  Holding the host team to single digits for a third straight quarter, Brownsburg extended their lead to 36-25 with 8 minutes to play.  The fourth quarter saw both teams score as many points as they did in the first half as the pace quickened significantly with your Bulldogs winning the Rotary Bell 59-42.  Brownsburg had another great collective effort with several players making contributions to the win.  Senior Reis Thomas had 25 points 8 rebounds and 5 assists to get the Bulldogs going.  Cameron Alford had 15 points and 8 rebound, while Malek Edmonds contributed 10 points and 7 rebounds.  Pierce Thomas had 3 points 3 reb and 3 assists.  Ryan Wiggins, Richard Lang, Jakobi McGowan, and Luke Lacey all contributed significant plays to the Bulldog victory.  It was great to see senior Gunnar Reffeitt back in action returning from injury to contribute two assists and help his fellow Bulldogs defeat their county rivals.
