Bulldogs Defeat McCutcheon
The varsity football team opened the 2013 football season in the newly renovated Roark Stadium with a 49 to 28 victory over the McCutcheon Mavericks. Toks Akinribade scored the first TD ever on the Bill Estes.com turf and later added two more scores in addition to 196 yards on 18 carries. Jacob Lambert threw a TD pass to Tyler Welch and rushed for a score himself as the Dogs built a 35 to 0 lead over the Mavs. Johnny Dotlich scooped up a fumble and rumbled in for a defensive score and Ethan Ogle hit pay dirt late in the game. Brandon Dowers was perfect on his extra point attempts going 7 for 7, Brandon also kicked off very well! The team was paced this week by the offensive line consisting of Justin Davis, Jake Shelley, Kent Craig, Dustin Dowers, Evan Mallory, Bryce Tolle and tight end Sam Wells. The team will play host to a strong Noblesville team this Friday night in the IU Health Athletic Complex at 7:00pm. Special thanks to the great group of fans who filled the new stands and helped the team to victory!
