The Brownsburg varsity girls soccer team fell 1-0 to Westfield on September 25. The result moved the Bulldogs to 7-5-3.

Both offenses were stagnant in a first half that saw very few clear chances. For the second straight match, the Bulldogs were locked in a scorless draw at the half.

The Shamrocks were able to find the back of the net less than 10 minutes into the second half. In the 49th minute, Amiah Srpunger beat the Bulldogs' back line and scored the lone goal of the match.

Brownsburg would threaten to tie the match on several occasions as their offense showed more light than in the first half.

Near the 70th minute, Brownsburg earned a pair of corner kicks. They were able to find the back of the net on the latter of the two attempts. Intially, Sarah Boucher tied the match, but the play was called back.

Westfield hung onto their 1-0 lead for the remainder of the second half and closed out the win over Brownsburg.

The Bulldogs will host No. 12 Zionsville in their regular season finale next week. It will be Senior Night for the Bulldogs. Tickets: https://bit.ly/2ldaIId
