Bulldogs Lose to Millers

The Brownsburg Varsity Softball Team lost a nail bitter last night against conference rivals Noblesville Millers 9-8 in extra innings. Noblesville captured the lead in the first inning, making the score 2-0. Brownsburg battled back scoring six runs in the second inning. Junior Elissa Brown started the big inning for Brownsburg with a leadoff double. Brown scored on a double hit by Junior Kyleigh Anderson. Senior Cece Ridgeway drove in a run when she walked with the bases loaded and Sophomore Anna Carroll drove in a run when she singled. Brownsburg continued to add to their lead in the third inning scoring two runs on doubles by Sophomore Maicey Bedrick and Senior Kayleigh Pate. Noblesville continued to fight back and made the score 8-8 at the bottom of the fourth inning. The game remained tied at 8 through the final three innings which sent the game into extra innings. Brownsburg fell to Noblesville 9-8 on the final play of the game, a sacrifice bunt. Despite the loss, the Bulldogs collected nine hits in the high-scoring affair. Bedrick and Brown each collected multiple hits for Brownsburg. Brown was also the starting pitcher. She tossed three and a third innings, allowing eight runs, eight hits, and striking out one. Senior Sydney Lowe took the loss for the Bulldogs despite a great performance. She tossed four innings, surrendering one run, three hits, and walking zero. The Bulldogs are back in action tomorrow night for Senior Night against Chatard. Be there to cheer on the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. at home.
