Softball Wins Lawrence Central Invite

On Saturday, the varsity softball team played in the Lawrence Central Invitational and came out tournament champions!  Pitching was the order of the day, starting with Carlie Weaver throwing a complete game-shutout against Brebeuf for the first game of the day.  She had 11 strikeouts and allowed only one hit while the offense was busy scoring runs.  Kelsey Reinhardt went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI, Kayle Comer added another 2 hits, and Ally Carver also contributed a hit and 2 RBI on the way to a 10-0 win in 6 innings.  The Dogs followed up that win with another great performance on the mound from Rachel Fiscus in the championship game against Lawrence Central.  Tallying an incredible 16 strikeouts and just 1 hit, Fiscus also helped herself out at the plate with an RBI.  Lindsey Stahl came up big on offense, as well, with a double and a triple that would eventually lead to her scoring 2 runs.  Weaver also contributed a hit and RBI to help the Dogs to a 3-0 victory and a championship trophy.  Great job, girls!
