Decatur Twilight Champs!!

It was a great night for the girls' track team as they opened the outdoor season at 6-0 by being crowned the Decatur Twilight Invitational champions. Several key performances on the night helped in the victory and showed signs many good things to come. Sophomore Courtney Stull racked up several points for the team placing 2^nd in the 100m hurdles, 2^nd in long jump, and joining Briana Smith, Daija Middlebrook, and Monique Burnes to place 1^st in the 4x100m relay. Cassidy Brown set a new personal record in the mile run grabbing 1^stplace in a time of 5:41 while Julia Popenfoose followed one step behind at 5:43 and also earned a 3^rd in the 2 mile race as well. Junior Crystal Stowers was back to her winning ways launching the shot put over 35' for 1^stplace, while Britany Newson grabbed 2^nd in the discus matching her best throw of 107'. Finally Freshman Mackenzie Harless made an awesome debut placing 2^nd in the high jump at 5' and also scoring valuable points in the 400m and 4x400 relay.
