The Brownsburg football team received eight All-Hoosier Crossroads Conference selections yesterday. That group is highlighted by six players who received an HCC 1st Team honor.

CB Isaiah Higgins, RB Donovan Marcus, C Pete Nygra, DT Dane Middlebrook, WR Preston Terrell, & MLB Cade Shupperd were all named to the All-HCC First Team.

Higgins had 41 tackles, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries for Brownsburg this year. The Bulldogs allowed the fewest points during HCC play and Higgins played a key role in Brownsburg's defense in 2019.

Marcus was as a dominant running back for the Bulldogs this fall. A key part of Brownsburg's offensive attack, Marcus amassed 1,589 yards and 13 rushing touchdowns this season. He ranked second in the HCC in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns in 2019.

Marcus ran for at least 100 yards in six of Brownsburg's last seven games. That stretch included three games of 220 rushing yards.

Nygra was a key cog for the Bulldogs rushing attack. Nygra anchored Brownsburg's offensive line that paved the way for the most potent rushing attack in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference. As a team, Brownsburg ran for 2284 rushing yards this fall. That number led every team in the HCC by more than 250 yards.

Middlebrook notched 31 total tackles this season for Brownsburg including 19 solo tackles. Middlebrook ranked 14th in the HCC with seven tackles for loss. With six total tackles in Brownsburg's 7-3 loss to Avon on September 13, Middlebrook broke his career high mark for total tackles in game.

Terrell was the highlight of one of the best passing attacks in the HCC. Terrell's 823 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns both led the HCC in 2019. Terrell had four games with at least 100 yards and three multi-touchdown games this season.

Shupperd was another key piece in Brownsburg's defense. Shupperd notched 65 total tackles in 2019 and was 8th in the HCC with 8.0 tackles for loss. Shupperd posted a pair of games for the Bulldogs with at least 10 total tackles.

In addition to the team's six HCC 1st Team selections, QB Ben Easters and FS Jakobi McGowan both received an All-HCC 2nd Team Selection.

Easters was third in the HCC this season with 1918 passing yards for the Bulldogs. He led the conference with 23 passing touchdowns on the year. Eaters posted six performances of at least three passing touchdowns.

McGowan finished in a three-way tie for the most interceptions in the HCC this year and led the conference in interception return yards. He posted 4 interceptions and 42 total tackles in 2019. McGowan had at least three tackles in all but one game for the Bulldogs.
