Bulldogs Finish the Regular Season Undefeated with Win at HSE

Your 6A #2 ranked Brownsburg Bulldogs finished the regular season undefeated with a perfect 9-0 record after beating Hamilton Southeastern 10-9 on a rainy Friday night!  This was the first undefeated regular season since 2012 for the Dogs, and only the 3rd since 1994!  It was a special regular season indeed with the Bulldogs also having wrapped up the Hoosier Crossroads Conference Championship all by themselves.

With the wet conditions, it was not an easy night for the offense.  Even so, junior RB Donny Marcus plowed his way to 130 yards rushing and the Dogs only TD.  Passing was difficult considering the weather, but sophomore QB Ben Easters did find senior Bryce Kirtz on a critical 3rd down conversion for 50 yards late in the game to allow the Dogs to seal the victory.

Special teams were indeed special, as the Dogs special teams units blocked three kicks on the night!  Seniors Lawson Aiken and Tyrone Griffin each blocked a punt, with Tyrone "The Freak" Griffin also making a huge block of the Royals extra point to make the difference in the margin of victory.  Clay Chase once again converted a long and difficult FG attempt to round out the Bulldog scoring.

The defense played well again, limiting the Royal offense to single digits and tough going the entire game.  The defense created 4 turnovers, with junior Anthony Lawrence having lots of plays as a defensive back, including an interception.

The Bulldogs are off this week, but look forward to all of your support a week from Friday as the playoffs get started!  The Southport Cardinals will be traveling to Roark Stadium for first round playoff action, and the team needs all of you in the stands cheering us on as we chase a State Championship!
