Seven Advance to State Meet

The girls track and field team competed at the Lafayette Jeff Regional Tuesday night and will take 6 events to the State Finals at IU next Friday night! The girls 4x800 relay of Brooke Dixon, Gabby Bische, and Abby Lynch started the night off strong with a first place finish and new school and regional record time of 9:13.56! Abby Lynch also broke the regional record in the 800 meters with her first place finish with a time of 2:12.70! Mackenzie Stien earned her ticket to state with a 3rd place finish and new personal record time of 15.15 in the 100 hurdles. Mackenzie Barrett also punched her ticket to state with a jump of 5'3" in the high jump. The 4x400 relay of Angie Neddeau, Brooke Dixon, and Abby Lynch will also compete after running the state standard time of 3:55.55 and a 4th place finish. Senior Joy Sopitan ended her senior year as she broke her school record time in the 100 hurdles with a time of 12.53! Thank you Joy for 4 great years.
