Track & Field Celebrates Seniors

The girls track and field team defeated Western Boone as we honored our five seniors: Mackenzie Barrett, Angie Neddeau, Joy Sopitan, Meg Roseman, and Sydni Montgomery. Winners for the night include: the 4x800 relay of Brooke Dixon, Irene Amalaraj, Carly Altier, and Anna Boone, Mackenzie Stien in the 100 hurdles, Joy Sopitan in the 100, Ali Ray in the 1600, The 4x100 Relay of Hailey Ortega, Logan Lewis, Dani McKenzie, and Angie Neddeau, Mackenzie Barrett in 300 hurdles, Gabby Bische in the 800, Sydni Montgomery in the 3200, and Lizzie Daniels in the 200. Field event winners include Katie Weldy in the discus, Te'a Nibbs in long jump, and Kaylee Price in the shot put. The girls will next compete Tuesday night in the conference meet. Go Bulldogs! 

 

The boys Bulldog track and field team had their final home meet of the year last night against Western Boone. It was an outstanding senior night track meet as the Bulldogs won the meet scoring 100 points to Western Boone's 42 points. In the field events, the Bulldogs made big strides last night in the Pole Vault. DJ Terrell won the event vaulting 12'3" which is a new personal best. Kyle Flandermeyer was second in the event vaulting 11'6" which is also a new personal best. The bulldogs swept not only the pole vault, but also the discus. Reis Thomas won the discus and Dane Middlebrook finished second. On the track, the boys swept the 100 and 200 meter dash. Bryce Kirtz won the 100 and Pierce Thomas won the 200. In the hurdles, Leigh Nutall won the 110 meter hurdles while Tyrone Griffin won the 300 meter hurdles. Christian Hammerly (9:54.8) and Alex Freeman (9:55.2) went 1/2 in the 3200 meter run both running under 10 minutes in the event for the first time ever. The Bulldogs won the 4x100 meter relay as well as the 4x800 meter relay. The boys JV squad will be back on the track Monday as they travel to Avon for their final meet of the season.
