Girls Tennis Competes at State

Girls' Tennis Road to the 2018 Final Four:
 
The Girls' Tennis Team won the 2018 Sectional with a 5-0 victory over Plainfield in the championship match.  Next, the Bulldogs defeated Park Tudor 3-2 to win the Regional Title (first ever for boys' and girls') and advance to the Semi-State.  At the Semi-State, the 'Dogs defeated Oldenburg Academy 5-0 to claim the title and advance to the Elite Eight at State.  In the state quarterfinals, the Bulldogs met #10 South Bend St. Joe and won an exciting 3-2 victory.  Hailey Blood and Ellie Hughes won at #2 and #3 singles, respectively.  Number 1 Doubles Caitlin Preda and Payton Haygood clinched the match with an intense comeback tie-break win in the second set to push the match into the third and deciding set for the match.  Preda-Haygood took the final set at 6-4 and the celebration began.  The Bulldogs were going to the Final Four!.  State champion Carmel defeated the 'Dogs 5-0 but not without a fight.  Ellie Hughes and Preda-Haygood made the Greyhounds go 3 sets and kept them in the heat for 2.5 hours.  What an historic journey for the 2018 Brownsburg Bulldog Girls' Tennis Team!  Thank you for all the fan support.  Our crowds were unmatched.  .
