Lady Aquadogs Advance to Sectional Finals

All 24 members of the Aquadogs Sectional team have advanced to Sectional Finals for Saturday, Feb. 7. Diving will start at 9:30 AM and swimming will start at 1 PM at Brownsburg. The Dogs will host all of the teams and individual swimmers that advanced from Thursday's preliminary round. 

In the 200 Medley Relay, junior Maria Scholz, sophomore Leah Kingery, senior Julia Stonebraker and sophomore Annika Schaekel won with a time of 1:58.30.

Senior Elise Dahlke came in 2nd in the 200 Free with a time of 2:01.59. In the 200 IM, junior Rory Smith came in 2nd with a time of 2:18.88, sophomore Schaekel came in 3rd with a time of 2:19.61 and senior Clodfelter came in 4th with a time of 2:22.16. 

Sophomore Margaret Miller came in 2nd in the 50 Free with a time of 24.75 and in the 100 Free with a time of 54.73. In the 100 Free, Senior Dahlke came in 3rd with a time of 55.57 and junior Smith came in 4th with a time of 56.90. Sophomore Schaekel came in 2nd with a time of 1:02.04 in the 100 Fly. 

Sophomore Erin Haycox won the 500 Free with a time of 5:35.65. Freshman Callie Clodfelter came in 2nd with a time of 5:39.69. The relay team of junior Ella Hart, sophomore M. Miller, senior Dahlke and sophomore Haycox came in 2nd in the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:45.32. 

Junior Maria Gutzweiler came in 2nd in the 100 Back with a time of 1:05.23. Sophomore Kingery came in 3rd in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:12.51. 

Yet another Brownsburg relay team took 1st in the last event of the night, the 400 Free Relay. Junior Scholz, senior Mehringer, sophomore Schaekel and senior Clodfelter swam the event with a time of 3:54.50. 

Head Coach Keith Gast says, "We talk about Thursday prelims just taking care of business. 24 individual swims. All 24 qualified for finals. All 3 relays in finals. Saturday is our day, we focus on swimming fast on Saturday. Brownsburg has won 6 [Sectionals] in a row. Saturday would be 7 in a row. That is our plan."
