Girls' Swim/Dive: Sectional Preview

The Lady Aquadogs are prepping for Sectionals this upcoming Thursday and Saturday. The preliminary round for Sectionals is Thursday, Feb. 6 at 6:00 PM. For teams that advance from the preliminary round, Sectional Finals are on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 9:00 AM. Both events will take place at Brownsburg. 

In group 13, the Bulldogs will compete against Ben Davis, Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory, Decatur Central, Herron, Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter, Indianapolis Crispus Attucks, Indianapolis Shortridge, International School Of Indiana, Park Tudor, Pike, Speedway and Tri-West Hendricks

About the Aquadogs 

• 11-2 record, losses to HSE and Fishers 

• 5-2 HCC Conference record

  • Wins over Westfield, Avon, Zionsville, Franklin Central and Noblesville 

• 3rd in HCC Invite in January 

• Ranked #21 in Indiana High School Swimming Coaches Association mid-season rankings 

• Beat Ben Davis 142-39 in regular season

• Beat Pike 117-68 in regular season

• Came in 2nd at Bulldog Relays with a score of 176

  • 3 sectional group teams were also at the meet: Brebeuf (5th place), Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter (6th place)  and Decatur Central (8th place) 

Top Dogs in the State 

• Relay team of junior Maria Gutzweiler, senior Joley Clodfelter, senior Julia Stonebraker and sophomore Margaret Miller are 11th in the state in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:54:84 and 9th in the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:41.64 

• Senior Elise Dahlke is 18th in the state in the 200 Free with a time of 1:59.35

• Sophomore Margaret Miller is 21st in the state in the 50 Free with a time of 25.16

• Relay team of sophomore Annika Schaekel, sophomore Margaret Miller, junior Rory Smith and senior Elise Dahlke are 11th in the state in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:49.03. 

• Junior Emma Wolf is 2nd in the state for one-meter diving with a score of 416.70

• Senior Hannah Truax is 3rd in the state for one-meter diving with a score of 407.5

• Senior Maya Leman is 4th in the state for one-meter diving with a score of 386.55 

Coaches' Choice 

In the 2019-2020 Indiana High School Swim Coaches Association event rankings, the Bulldogs have top ranking swimmers and divers. 

• 16th in the Medley Relay with a time of 1:53.42

• Senior Elise Dahlke: 30th in the 200 Free with a time of 1:58.96

• Senior Hannah Truax: 11th in diving 

• Junior Emma Wolf: 22 in diving

• Senior Maya Leman: 26 in diving

• Sophomore Margaret Miller: 27th in the 100 Free with a time of 54.40. 

• 12th in the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:41.48 

• 13th in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:44.84
