@bhsdogs_gsoccer to face No. 6 Center Grove and Westfield this week

The Brownsburg girls' soccer team will continue their 2019 campaign as they host No. 6 Center Grove on Monday. They will then travel to HCC foe Westfield for their final road game of the 2019 regular season. 

The Bulldogs are 6-4-3 (1-2-2 in HCC) heading into the week. 

Bulldog Bits

  • The Bulldogs went 1-1-1 last week, defeating McCutcheon 3-1, tying No. 8 Fishers 1-1 and falling 5-0 to No. 4 Noblesville
  • Brownsburg is riding a five-match unbeaten streak at home; the Bulldogs last home loss came back on Aug. 28 to No. 1 Hamilton Southeastern
  • When playing at home over the last two seasons, the Bulldogs have a record of 9-2-2
  • Four of the Bulldogs final five matches of the 2019 season are against teams ranked in the Indiana Soccer Coaches' Association poll; the Trojans will be the third straight top-ten team the Bulldogs face 
  • Brownsburg's offense was potent against the Tigers as they held an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks
  • Lenie Dawson's 43rd-minute goal in the match against Fishers was her first of the 2019 season; she became the 14th different Bulldog to score a goal this year

About the Trojans

Center Grove comes into the match with an 11-0-1 (5-0-1 in Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference) record on the season. They are coming off a 7-0 win over Plainfield in their last matchup. 

The Trojans' offense has been on a tear over their last five matches as they have outscored their opponents 42-3. On the season, Center Grove has scored 78 goals, a number that leads the MIC by a wide margin. They have a goal differential of 64. 

Center Grove is led by the two leading scorers in the MIC. Macy Detty, coming off a two-goal performance against Plainfield, has scored 18 times this season. Detty has goals in all but one of the team's matches.  

Jostin Reeves has 13 goals for the Trojans. She has scored two goals in four of the team's last five games. 

Center Grove notched a 19-4 record in 2018 and advanced to the IHSAA Class 4A Semi-State at Seymour. 

About the Shamrocks

Westfield is 7-5 (1-4 in HCC) on the year after defeating Pike 4-0 on Sept. 21. They will play Pendleton Heights on Monday before hosting the Bulldogs. 

The Shamrocks opened the year with a 5-2 stretch but have gone 2-3 in their last five matches. They have played .500 soccer since Sept. 11. 

Eight different players have scored a goal this year for Westfield. Six of those players are seniors.

Lauren MacDonald's six goals this season is the high mark for the Shamrocks. Amiah Sprunger is close behind with five goals on the year.
