@BHSDogsWrestlin posts strong night to open State Finals

The 82nd Annual IHSAA Wrestling State Finals kicked off with the First-Round matches on February 21 at Banker's Life Fieldhouse. Brownsburg's seven varsity wrestlers competed Friday night with four advancing to the second day of competition.

106-pound Logan Miller, 126-pound Kysen Montgomery, 138-pound Drake Campbell and 285-pound Dorian Keys all picked up wins on Friday to advance to the State Quarterfinal tomorrow morning. 113-pound Braden Haines, 160-pound Peyton Asbury and 195-pound Isaiah Street all saw their strong 2019-2020 campaigns end at Banker's Life Fieldhouse.

The Bulldogs sit in 4th place after picking up 17.0 points on the first night. Crown Point sits atop the team scores with 26.0 points. 


  • Miller picked up his 40th win of the season in the First Round of the State Finals
  • Montgomery won despite a late surge and takedown from his opponent, Payne Blackburn
  • Campbell secured the fourth State place of his career with the on Friday; his pin in 1:19 was the seventh fastest of any wrestler on the night
  • Keys moved his IHSAA State Tournament win streak to 27 matches with the win on Friday
