     'Dogs at State

106-pound Logan Miller, 113-pound Braden Haines, 126-pound Kysen Montgomery, 138-pound Drake Campbell, 160-pound Peyton Asbury, 195-pound Isaiah Street and 285-pound Dorian Keys will all represent Brownsburg this weekend at the State Finals. The group is a combined 248-42 this season for the Bulldogs. Keys comes in with a perfect 42-0 record on the year.

Brownsburg is one of six schools that will bring at least six wrestlers to the State Finals tomorrow. Evansville Mater Dei's nine wrestlers is the most of any school in the field. Cathedral, Chesterton and Crown Point each have eight wrestlers at the State Finals.

Haines and Street are making the first IHSAA Wrestling State Finals appearances of their high school careers this weekend.

The Road to Banker's Life Fieldhouse

Logan Miller comes into the State Finals with a 39-2 record and No.1 state ranking according to IndianaMat.com. The sophomore is riding a 20-match win streak and won a Sectional, Regional and Semi-State championship en-route to his second trip to the State Finals. He owns wins over the No.2 and the No.3 ranked wrestlers in the State this season among others.

Braden Haines is one of three sophomore Bulldogs who punched a ticket to the State Finals this season. He comes in with a 26-16 record after a fourth-place finish at the IHSAA Evansville Semi-State.

Kysen Montgomery is 34-8 on the season and will make his third consecutive appearance in the IHSAA State Finals. Montgomery was a Sectional, Regional and Semi-State runner-up leading to the State Finals this year. Montgomery has defeated the No.2 wrestler in the state in back to back weekends.

Drake Campbell is no stranger to the big stage as he is set to make the fourth IHSAA State Finals appearance of his Brownsburg career. Campbell, ranked No.5 by IndianaMat, is 37-1 this season and hasn't lost a match since January 18th. Campbell won a Sectional, Regional and Semi-State title on his road to the State Finals. He has beaten Indiana wrestlers who are currently ranked No.1, No.3, No.7, No.8 and more this season.

Peyton Asbury comes in with a 36-6 record on the year after he finished in 2nd place at the Semi-State last weekend. Asbury won his first-career Regional title two weeks ago then clinched his second consecutive strip to the State Finals the following weekend. Asbury is ranked No.8 by IndianaMat.

Isaiah Street rounds out the sophomore trio for Brownsburg at the State Finals. He comes in ranked No.8 by IndianaMat with a 34-9 record on the season. Street won a Sectional title then finished 2nd at the Regional and 3rd at the Semi-State.

Dorian Keys is the another No.1 ranked wrestler for Brownsburg heading into the State Finals. Keys is 81-4 over last two seasons of his wrestling career and is riding a 26-match win streak in the IHSAA State Tournament. Keys comes in as the defending champion of the 285-weight class.

     A Look Ahead

Miller and Keys are both the highest-ranked wrestlers in their respective weight classes. If the rankings hold up, they will both meet Indiana's No.2 wrestler in the State Semi-Final match. Both bouts would be rematches of meetings that Miller and Keys each won during the regular season. Miller took a 2-1 decision over Crown Point's Sam Goin back in December. Keys defeated Andrew Irick of Hamilton Southeastern with a 2-1 decision back at the Hoosier Crossroads Conference Championship.

Montgomery will take on 14th ranked Payne Blackburn of Delta in the First Round. With a win he would be in line to try and avenge a 5-1 regular season loss to Crown Point's 4th ranked Stephen Roberson in the State Quarterfinal.

Campbell will potentially have to defeat the No.1, No.2 and No.6 wrestler in the state if he wants to claim the first individual State Championship of his career.

Based on the rankings Street is set for most competitive First Round match of any Bulldog. He will wrestle 6th ranked Eli Pack of Culver Academies tomorrow night. With a win he could meet the state's No.1 ranked wrestler in the State Semi-Final.

Haines will meet Perry Meridian's Alex Cottey, the No.1 ranked wrestler in the state, in the First Round. Asbury will also take on a top-five foe as he lines up against 4th ranked Cooper Noehre of Greenfield Central on Friday night.

     State Championship History

Brownsburg has crowned three IHSAA individual champions in its Wrestling history. The school also came away with an IHSAA team State Championship during at the 2017 IHSAA Wrestling State Finals. Mark Meunier (1976 and 1977), Brayton Lee (2016, 2017 and 2018) and Keys make up the list of IHSAA individual champions in school history.

Outside of Keys, Kysen Montgomery has the highest individual finish from the Bulldogs current State Finals field. Last season Montgomery fell in the State Quarterfinals and finished in fourth place at the 120-weight class. Drake Campbell's highest finish in his three trips to the State Finals was a pair of fifth place marks in 2017 (at 106) and last season (at 132.)

Last year the Bulldogs came away with seven State placers as Miller, 113-pound KT Nelson, Montgomery, Campbell, Asbury, 220-pound Lawson Aiken and Keys all placed. As a team Brownsburg came in 3rd place behind IHSAA State Champion Cathedral and IHSAA Runner-Up Avon.
