No.3 @BHSDogsWrestlin is runner-up at Semi-State; sends 7 to IHSAA State Finals

The Brownsburg varsity wrestling team finished in second place in the IHSAA Wrestling Evansville Semi-State on February 15. The Bulldogs came away with three individual titles on the day. Seven Bulldogs in all advanced to next week's IHSAA Wrestling State Finals at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Downtown Indianapolis.

106-pound Logan Miller, 138-pound Drake Campbell and 285-pound Dorian Keys each won a Semi-State championship. 113-pound Braden Haines, 126-pound Kysen Montgomery, 160-pound Peyton Asbury and 195-pound Isaiah Street also punched a ticket to the state finals despite not winning a title.

NOTES:

Haines picked up a pair of major decisions in the first two rounds to clinch his first ever appearance in the State Finals
Montgomery upset the No.2 wrestler in the state for the second straight weekend as he took a 6-3 decision over Monrovia's Ben Dalton in the Semifinals
Campbell defeated the No.1 ranked wrestler in the state, Evansville Mater Dei's Blake Borman, and the No.3 wrestler in the state, Floyd Central's J Conway, en-route to the Semi-State crown

Brownsburg's seven wrestlers will compete in the 2020 IHSAA Wrestling State Finals next weekend at Banker's Life Fieldhouse in Downtown Indianapolis. The First round begins Friday at 6 p.m. with the Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Finals matches set for Saturday.
