No.3 @BHSDogsWrestlin wins sixth consecutive HCC Championship

The Brownsburg varsity wrestling team won its sixth consecutive Hoosier Crossroads Conference championship on January 18. Brownsburg sent a total of 11 wrestlers to the tournament final. 106-pound Logan Miller, 160-pound Peyton Asbury and 285-pound Dorian Keys all came away with an individual HCC title on the day.

Brownsburg saw all 14 of its wrestlers place in the tournament, many of which were runners-up. 126-pound Kysen Montgomery, 138-pound Drake Campbell, 145-pound Nick Cicciarelli, 152-pound Jacob Cookerly, 170-pound Jahmon Spiller, 182-pound Greg Glover, 195-pound Isaiah Street and 220-pound Leighton Jones all finished in 2^nd at the Hoosier Crossroads Conference championship.

113-pound Braden Haines and 120-pound Gavin Garcia finished 3^rd in the tournament. 132-pound Stabir Singh finished in fifth place.

The highlight of the day may have come in the very last bout of the tournament as the top-two wrestlers in the state battled at 285. No.1 ranked Dorian Keys of Brownsburg took on No.2 Andrew Irick of Hamilton Southeastern with Keys getting the 2-1 decision.

OTHER NOTABLES:

106-pound Logan Miller continued his tear this season as he won both of his bouts in the tournament by fall
145-pound Nick Cicciarelli upset the top seeded wrestler in the tournament, Hamilton Southeastern's Reece Lumann, en route to a runner-up finish on the day
138-pound Drake Campbell was handed his first loss of the season in the finals
160-pound Peyton Asbury came away with a thrilling 4-2 overtime decision in the final round
