No.1 @BHSDogsWrestlin set for Harrison Duals in Ohio

The Brownsburg varsity wrestling team will travel to Harrison, Ohio tomorrow for the Harrison Duals at William Henry Harrison High School. Action will kick off at 9 a.m.

     Last time out

Brownsburg defeated Westfield 53-12 in a dual to open their 2019-2020 season. The Bulldogs won all but two bouts in the match including the first eight to lead the Shamrocks 32-0.

The Bulldogs won five of their bouts with Westfield by fall including a pin with 44 seconds left in the first period by 170-pound Greg Glover. 113-pound Braden Haines and 145-pound Nick Cicciarelli both picked up wins in their first varsity action on the mat. 

      About the Tournament

A total of ten teams will compete at the Harrison Duals this weekend. That group includes five teams from the state of Indiana, four teams from the state of Ohio and a team from the state of Alabama. Two of the teams from Indiana are ranked in the IndianaMat.com Team Dual Rankings and Power Poll for this week.   

Ashland (OH), No.1/3 Brownsburg, East Central, Fairfield (OH), Franklin Central, Harrison (OH), Hewitt-Trussville (AL), Lebanon (OH), Mason (OH) and No.7/6 Roncalli will all be in Harrison this weekend.

There are five rounds for the tournament. Brownsburg's schedule is as follows:

Round 1: vs Mason (OH)

Round 2: vs Ashland (OH)

Round 3: Harrison (OH)

Round 4: vs Lebanon (OH)

Round 5: vs Fairfield (OH)

Brownsburg's five opponents combine to have fourteen wrestlers who are ranked in the InterMat Ohio Wrestling 2019-2020 Preseason Divisional Rankings. They are as follows:

     Back at the Harrison Duals

Brownsburg will wrestle at the Harrison Duals for the fifth consecutive season. The Bulldogs have never lost a dual in their four trips to Harrison.

Last year, the Bulldogs dominated the out-of-state tournament with a perfect 5-0 day. Logan Miller, Drew Kreitzer, Griffin Ison, Lawson Aiken and Dorian Keys all went undefeated at the tournament.

The Bulldogs will return to Indiana after the completion of the Harrison Duals and get set for Hoosier Crossroads Conference wrestling. Brownsburg will travel to take on No. 6/5 Avon in a dual on December 12.
