No.13/17 @bhsdogsghoops and Zionsville set for Friday night tip to close regular season

The Brownsburg varsity girls' basketball team will travel to HCC foe Zionsville this Friday in the final game of the Bulldogs' regular season slate. The matchup will tip off at 6 p.m.

Brownsburg comes into its season finale with a 16-8 record (4-2 in Hoosier Crossroads Conference).

     Bulldog Bits

  • Brownsburg is fresh off a pair of double figure wins last week; the Bulldogs defeated Pike 53-28 and Westfield 44-31
  • Brownsburg is riding a three-game win streak into their matchup with the Eagles; it's the Bulldogs fourth streak of three or more wins this season
  • Brownsburg's win over Westfield was the Bulldogs' fourth HCC win of the season; the result clinched Brownsburg's third consecutive season with a winning record in conference play
  • Brownsburg allowed an average of 29.5 points per game in its pair of matchups last week
  • Allison Bosse has made the second-most threes of any player in the HCC this season; she is currently fourth in program history with 146 career threes

     About the Eagles

Zionsville is amid its worst season since the 2014-2015 campaign as the Eagles come in with a 6-15 record on the year (0-6 record in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference). Zionsville is coming off back-to-back losses in HCC play after they fell to Noblesville and Hamilton Southeastern in their last two matchups.

Zionsville's duo of Laila Hull and Katey Richason are the leaders in the scoring column for the Eagles this season. Hull, a 6-foot freshman, is averaging 13.2 points per game, 7.5 rebounds per game and 3.0 steals per game this season. Richason, a 6-foot-1 junior, is averaging 12.5 ppg, 6.9 rpg and 3.0 assists per game.

     Series History

Brownsburg owns a 12-6 advantage in its series with Zionsville since the year 2000. The last eight matchups in the series have been marked by a pair of four-game win streaks from each team. The Eagles come in having won four straight over Brownsburg.

Last season Zionsville handed Brownsburg a 60-51 loss at the Varsity Fieldhouse.

     Up Next

The IHSAA state tournament is next for the Bulldogs who will look to win the 15th IHSAA Sectional championship in program history next week. Brownsburg will face Mooresville in its sectional opener on February 4 at Plainfield High School.
