No.13/11 @bhsdogsghoops to play at No.8/9 Center Grove

The Brownsburg varsity girls' basketball team will travel to No.8/9 Center Grove tomorrow for their first matchup of the new decade. The junior varsity game will tipoff at 6 p.m. with varsity to follow.

Brownsburg has a 9-6 record (3-1 record in Hoosier Crossroads Conference).  

     Bulldog Bits

  • Brownsburg is coming off a trip to New Castle, Indiana for the 2019 Raymond James Hall of Fame Classic on December 27; the Bulldogs fell to Penn and Salem in the tournament
  • Allison Bosse was named to the 2019 Raymond James Hall of Fame Classic All-Tournament team; Bosse averaged 14.5 points per game 6.5 rebounds per game and 2.0 steals per game at the tournament
  • Brownsburg has played nine teams that are rated in the top-25 of Jeff Sagarin's Indiana High School Girls' Basketball ratings; Center Grove will be the tenth such team in the 16th game this season
  • The Bulldogs' schedule moved up to the third toughest in the state of Indiana, according to the Sagarin's, after taking on Penn and Salem at the Hall of Fame Classic last week

     About the Trojans

Center Grove welcomes the new year with a 13-2 record this season (3-0 record in Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference). The Trojans are coming off back to back double-figure wins over Pike on December 21 and Avon on December 28.

Mary Wilson (15.2 ppg) and Claire Rake (12.1 ppg) both bring double figure scoring averages into the matchup. Wilson and Rake shoot roughly 40 percent from behind the three-point line.

Center Grove is allowing opponents a scoring average of 37.1 points per game. The Trojans are rated as the No.9 team in the state of Indiana by the Sagarin ratings.

     Series History

Brownsburg and Center Grove have met in all but three seasons since the year 2000. The Trojans hold an 11-5 advantage in that stretch however the Bulldogs have won the last two games in the series.

Last season, Center Grove came to the Varsity Fieldhouse and was handed a 54-48 loss. Allison Bosse canned four threes en route to a total of 20 points in the win.
