     About the Stars

Bedford North Lawrence comes into the matchup with a 0-1 record. The Stars fell to Mooresville 55-50 to open the regular season and had their matchup with Vincennes Rivet on Tuesday postponed.

Led by Miss Indiana Basketball Jorie Allen, the Stars won their 8th consecutive IHSAA Sectional championship last season before falling to Castle in the Regional final. Bedford, who hasn't had a losing season since 2005-2006, posted a 23-6 record last year.

Allen, who is now playing for Indiana Univesity, led the Stars with 19.1 points per game and 8.0 rebounds during her senior campaign.

6-foot-3 senior Madison Webb is the leading returner for Bedford. She averaged 9.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game a year ago.

Chloe McKnight (9.0 ppg, 3.3 rpg and 2.0 apg) also returns for Bedford.

     About the Giants

Ben Davis is 1-2 on the year after defeating Mooresville 63-47 in their last matchup.

The Giants are also coming off an IHSAA Regional final appearance. Ben Davis fell to Lawrence North in the Decatur Central regional to end their 17-9 season last year.

Ben Davis is headlined by All-USA Central Indiana Preseason Super Team selection Cherrelle Newsom. She led the Giants with 13.3 points per game last season and had five games with five makes or more from behind the 3-point line.

Khera Goss (10.0 ppg and 4.9 rpg) also returns for the Giants.

     Series History

Brownsburg and Bedford North Lawrence have only met once since the turn of the century. Last season, the Bulldogs hosted the Stars for an early season matchup and fell 65-57 despite 18 points from Allison Bosse.

Brownsburg has a much more storied series with Ben Davis as the two teams have met every season since at least the year 2000. The two schools met a combined 24 times during the regular and postseason over that span.

Ben Davis leads the regular season series since 2000 by a 13-6 margin however Brownsburg has won four of their last six games against the Giants.

Last season, Brownsburg defeated Ben Davis 65-60 behind 24 points from Bosse. Becki and Makenzie Stein also pitched in 14 points in the winning effort.
