No. 4/6 @bhsdogsghoops heads to Plainfield for first road contest

The Brownsburg girls' basketball team will continue their 2019-2020 campaign as they travel to take on Plainfield on November 12th. The junior varsity game will tip-off at 6 p.m. with varsity to follow.

Brownsburg is 2-0 on the young campaign

     Bulldog Bits

  • Brownsburg comes into the matchup off a pair of wins in the opening week of the season; they beat Hamilton Heights 58-40 and No. 3/7 North Central 59-47 last week
  • The Bulldogs come in at No. 4 in this week's ISGSA 4A poll and No. 6 in this week's IBCA poll; those rankings are both improvements from the previous week
  • A victory over Plainfield would give Brownsburg head coach Debbie Guckenberger the 200th win of her career as a head coach
  • Brownsburg is holding their opponents to an average of 40.0 points per game through their first two games
  • Ally Becki outscored North Central in the first quarter of the Bulldogs' matchup with the Panthers; Becki scored 12 points on a 4-4 effort from deep
  • Mackenzie Bedrick scored a career-high 16 points in Brownsburg's win over North Central last Saturday
  • The matchup with the Quakers will be the Bulldogs' first road contest this year; they posted a 9-1 record last season when playing away from home

     About the Quakers

Plainfield is 1-0 on the year after a 66-42 win over Terre Haute South in their opener. The Quakers posted a 10-13 record last year for their first losing season since 2012-2013.

Plainfield returns their top three scorers from a season ago including a pair of players heading into their sophomore campaigns.

Ellie Wilkerson led the Quakers in scoring during her freshman season last year. She averaged 12.0 points per game and was Plainfield's leading rebounder.

Jozee Rhodes averaged 9.5 points and 5.2 rebounds for the Quakers as a freshman. Macy Woods returns for her junior season after averaging 9.5 points per game last year.

     Series History

Brownsburg and Plainfield have met 38 times since the turn of the century when you include IHSAA and Hendricks County tournament matchups. The Bulldogs hold a 20-18 advantage against Plainfield over that stretch.

Plainfield leads the regular season series over that same span by a 10-9 margin.

Brownsburg won the meeting last year between the two schools by a score of 75-40. The Bulldogs put four scorers in double figures and were led by 16 points and 7 rebounds from Ally Becki
