The Brownsburg Boys' and Girls' Cross Country teams will compete in the 2019 IHSAA Cross Country State Tournament on Saturday as Brownsburg High School hosts IHSAA Sectional 17.

Brownsburg is the only school to bring ranked teams into the Sectional. The Brownsburg boys are ranked seventh in this week's IATCCC poll. The Brownsburg girls sit in the No. 17 slot.

Defending Champs

Brownsburg is looking to extend Sectional championship streaks on both the boys and girls side.

The Brownsburg girls have won three consecutive Sectional titles dating back to 2016. The Boys come into the postseason as defending champions after winning the crown in 2018.

Last season, the Brownsburg girls put three of their runners in the top-five individual times at the Sectional. Brooke Dixon was runner-up.

The Brownsburg boys also put three of their runners in the top-five at the 2018 Sectional as they swept the third, fourth and fifth place positions.

Last Time Out

Brownsburg competed at the 2019 Nike Valley Twilight where both teams posted top-ten finishes. The meet featured over a dozen ranked teams on both sides.

The Girls finished eighth at the meet. Dixon (18:39.90) posted the top individual time for the Bulldogs.

Just two weeks ago, Brownsburg hosted the 2019 Hoosier Crossroads Conference Cross Country Championshsips in what was a strong day on both the boys and the girls side.
