Brownsburg Cross Country to run at Riverview Invitational

The Brownsburg High School boys' and girls' cross-country teams will travel to Carmel for the Riverview Health Invitational hosted by Westfield.

Both teams will run on Saturday Sept. 21 at Northview Christian Church.

Ranked No. 10 in the IATCCC poll, the varsity boys' team will compete in the Invitational Race at 10:30 a.m. as they rest their top seven runners for the Hoosier Crossroads Invitational next weekend. The 25th ranked girls' squad will run in the Championship Race at 9 a.m.

The boys Invitational Race field includes Pendleton Heights, Guerin Catholic, New Palestine, Fishers, Roncalli, Marion, Norwell, Lebanon, Scecina, Shelbyville, Park Tudor, Western Boone, Connersville, Columbus East, Randolph Southern, Heritage Christian, Indian Creek, Northeastern.

The girls Championship Race field includes No. 4 Fishers, No. 15 Hamilton Southeastern, No. 10 Cathedral, No. 21 Westfield, No. 16 Homestead, Guerin Catholic, Dekalb, No. 17 North Central, Franklin, Fort Wayne Snider, New Palestine, Heritage Christian, Columbus East, Delta, No. 3 Carmel, Fort Wayne Carroll.

Last time out, the boys team traveled to Illinois for the First to the Finish Invitational while the girls ran at the Ben Davis Invite.

The boys finished in ninth in Illinois with 310 points and were led by Jacob Kodrick with a time of 15:27.5 in the 3-mile race. On the girls' side, the Bulldogs finished fourth with 147 points. Emma Cougill was the top runner for Brownsburg with a time of 19:54.16.

Twelve runners will compete for the Brownsburg varsity boys this weekend. Mael Brouwer, Josh Hamilton, Andrew Moodie, Patrick Voglewede, Eli Grant, Zach Lien, Cade Oliger, Caeden Ramsey, Caedmon Barksdale, Josh Renzi, Ben Cornette and Jalen Larkey represent the Bulldogs' lineup for the Invitational Race. 

The Brownsburg girls will have 10 runners competing this weekend. Their lineup includes Brooke Dixon, Cougill, Kylie Van Ness, Isabella Maihofer, Sophie Britton, Alivia Gustrowsky, Eva Altschul, Sydney Parpart, Olivia Limbil and Carly Altier.
