Brownsburg Cross Country: Weekend Recap

The boys' and girls' cross country teams were both in action on Saturday Sept. 14. The boys' team traveled to Peoria, Illinois for the First to the Finish Invitational, where they finished ninth. The girls' team ran at the Ben Davis Invite and finished fourth.
Girls' XC at Ben Davis Invite
Running against 21 other teams, Brownsburg was able to finish fourth at the Ben Davis Invite. The Bulldogs were up against several teams including HCC foe Noblesville and Hendricks County schools Plainfield and Danville. Brownsburg put four runners in the top 30 individual times.
Emma Cougill and Kiley Van Ness led the Bulldogs in the invite. Cougill (17th place) finished with a time of 19:54.16 and Van Ness (25th place) notched a time of 20:25.59.
Boys' XC at First to the Finish Invitational
The First to the Finish Invitational featured several top teams from both Illinois and Indiana. Eleven of the schools are ranked in the state of Illinois. Two other schools, Fishers and Brownsburg, are ranked in the state if Indiana. The Bulldogs finished four points behind the eighth-place Tigers.
In a 3-mile race, Jacob Kodrick (15.27.5) finished 36th out of the 300-plus runners. Alex Freeman (15:28.1) fininshed 38th. With their times converted to a normal 5K race, Kodrick, Trevor Nolan, Panin Skiles and Adin Rademacher all posted personal records.
On both the boys' and the girls' side, the Bulldogs next meet is Sept. 21 at Westfield.
