Boys Track Defeats Plainfield/Mooresville

The Bulldogs competed at Plainfield Tuesday night in a triangular meet with Plainfield and Mooresville. The boys came out on top, scoring 116 points to Plainfield's 41 points and Mooresville's 11 points. The biggest news of the night was in the discus. Reis Thomas won the discus and broke the school record in the event throwing 171'9". Dane Middlebrook and Reis Thomas are currently #2 and #1 in the state of Indiana in the discus. In the  other field events, Dane Middlebrook won the shot put and Pierce Thomas won the long jump while Marcos Barbosa won the high jump. Another great PR of the night happened in the pole vault. DJ Terrell vaulted 13 feet in the pole vault to finish second. That vault was a one foot personal best for DJ. On the track, all three relay teams finished in first. Tyrone Griffin won the 110 meter hurdles and John Colquitt won the 300 meter hurdles. Pierce Thomas won the 100 meter dash and Shai Sumpter-Bey won the 200 meter dash. Bryan Lomax won the 800 meter run, Alex Freeman won the 1600 meter run, and Tyler Nolan won the 3200 meter run. The Bulldogs will be back on the track Friday night as they travel to Franklin Central for the Lightning Bolt Relays.
