Boys Basketball Cruises to Victory over New Castle

Saturday Brownsburg played in the Forum Tipoff Classic which featured several of the best teams around the state competing at Southport high school.  Brownsburg was slated to take on the New Castle Trojans at 3:20.  After a tough shooting evening Friday, Brownsburg came out lighting up the nets for a 16-10 lead.  Malek Edmonds hit a three pointer to end the 2nd quarter with Brownsburg leading the Trojans 32-19.  On the evening the Bulldogs hot 9 three's lead by Jakobi McGowan's 19 points.  Great defense held New Castle to 48 points below their Friday total as Brownsburg cruised to a 73-41 victory.  Cameron Alford started the Bulldogs off with 5 first quarter assists and Pierce Thomas add 6 rebounds and 5 more assists to create some great scoring opportunities as the Bulldogs had 4 players reach double figure scoring.  In addition to McGowan's 19 points, Alford chipped in 14 points, Malek Edmonds had 13 and Reis Thomas had 12 points.  Pierce Thomas added 9 points and 3 steals to go with his rebounds and assists for a great all-around game.  Luke Lacey, Ryan Wiggins, and Richard Lang chipped in excellent minutes for the Bulldogs while freshman JJ Louden earned his first varsity points.  Brownsburg will be back in action for the Bell Game vs Avon.
