Boys Basketball Falls to Nationally Ranked, La Lumiere

Saturday the girls & boys teams participated in the second year of the Hendricks County Hoopfest at Danville high school.  The boys took on national prep power Laporte LaLumiere.  The Dogs got off to a great start with physical defense and timely scoring to end the first quarter down 13-15.  Both teams slugged it out with big shots and high flying dunks to end the half with Brownsburg still trailing by 2, 28-30.  Brownsburg tied the game at 41 all before National Player of the year candidate Keion Brooks scored 13 of his 23 points to end the quarter with Brownsburg trailing 54-47.  Brownsburg made a late run to cut the lead to 4 points but LaLumiere made free enough plays to hold off the Bulldogs for a 72-63 win.  All five starters notched the scoring column for Brownsburg with Cameron Alford scoring a season high 30 points.  Pierce Thomas (12) Malek Edmonds (11) Reis Thomas (7) and Ryan Wiggins (3) tallied the remaining points for the Bulldogs.  Jakobi McGowan, Luke Lacey & Connor Lucas contributed valuable minutes for the Bulldogs as the team continues to show their potential.  Brownsburg clearly established why they are considered one of the best teams in the state and will look to rebound Friday at home against Lawrence North.
