Boys Basketball Beats Franklin Central

The boys basketball team was back in action Friday for their first HCC competition of the season.  The boys & girls teams hosted Franklin Central in front of a large hometown crowd.  With the girls winning the first game on Veterans night the boys took the floor vs the Flashes with a flurry of first quarter points to lead 22-10.  The pace slowed a little in the second quarter with Brownsburg extending their lead to 39-20.  Brownsburg was paced in the first half by senior Reis Thomas. Thomas was playing in his first game since being injured early in the football season and made his presence known right away, notching 11 points by halftime.  Malek Edmonds chipped in 6 points and Ryan Wiggins notched all 10 of his points in the first half to pace the Bulldogs to their halftime lead.  The third quarter saw the Bulldogs start a little slowly before exploding for 23 points to lead 62-32.  Cameron Alford had 12 points and Pierce Thomas scored 9 points to account for 21 of the 23 points scored in the quarter.  Brownsburg cruised to a 76-40 victory.  Pierce Thomas lead the team in rebounding with 7 followed by Edmonds (5) Wiggins (4) and Richard Lang (4).  Alford and Thomas also lead the team with 5 assists each followed by Reis Thomas with 3.  Seth Harley and Connor Lucas also added 2 assist each as the team had 20 assists for the evening.  Alford (5) and Luke Lacey(4) tallied 9 of the teams 16 steals and Richard Lang added 3 blocked shots to the team total for the evening.
