@BHSdogsfootball sets home opener for 2020 season; finalizes 2020 schedule

The Brownsburg varsity football team has finalized their home opener for the 2020 season. Brownsburg will host St. Xavier out of Cincinnati, Ohio to kick off its home slate next fall.
Last season, the Bulldogs made the trek to play St. Xavier and fell to the Bombers 38-17. It marked the first time Brownsburg had ever played an out-of-state opponent in football.
The announcement officially sets the 2020 regular season schedule for the Bulldogs. Brownsburg will play a nine-game slate next year including seven games against Hoosier Crossroads Conference foes.
The Bulldogs 2019 schedule was rated as the 8th toughest in the state of Indiana by the final Jeff Sagarin Indiana High School Football Ratings for the 2019 season. Brownsburg will play the same nine opponents in 2020 as they did in 2019.
Five of Brownsburg's 2020 opponents ended this past season ranked among the top fifteen teams in the Sagarin Ratings. Seven of the eight Indiana teams that the Bulldogs will play next season finished in the top-25 of those same ratings.
Brownsburg will open their 2020 campaign on the road against the Ben Davis Giants on August 21. The Bulldogs will host the Bombers a week later at Roark Stadium to close their 2020 nonconference slate.
The remaining seven games on the schedule will within the HCC. Brownsburg had a 5-2 record in HCC play last season and finished second in the conference.
The Bulldogs will play host to Avon (Sept. 11), Westfield (Sept. 25), and Noblesville (Oct. 9) in HCC play. Brownsburg will travel to Franklin Central (Sept. 4), Fishers (Sept. 18), Zionsville (Oct. 2) and Hamilton Southeastern (Oct. 16).
After the completion of the 2020 regular season, Brownsburg will play in Class 6A
Sectional 5 of the 48th Annual IHSAA Football State Tournament. Opponents and locations will be announced during the IHSAA 47th Annual IHSAA Football State Tournament Pairings Show.
Ticketing information for Brownsburg varsity football home games will be announced at a later date.
