Varsity Football takes down No. 1 Avon in Sectional Semifinal

Brownsburg beat Avon 27-24 in the Sectional Semifinal at home on Friday.
The Bulldogs got on the board first with a 35-yard Preston Terrell touchdown catch.

After Avon matched it, the first quarter ended 7-7.
A Jakobi McGowan interception put Brownsburg deep in Avon territory, which led to a 2-yard Donovan Marcus touchdown catch to put the Bulldogs back on top.
Mani Jackson returned an Avon fumble for a touchdown on the next possession to put Brownsburg up 20-7.

Avon scored two late touchdowns to end the first half and Brownsburg faced a 21-20 deficit at the break.
A scoreless third quarter put the Bulldogs down 1 heading into the fourth.
That 1 became 4 after an Avon field goal.
A 42-yard Donovan Marcus carry set up a 7-yard Luke Lacey touchdown catch to give Brownsburg the lead with about eight minutes to go.
Isaiah Higgins picked off an Avon pass, putting Brownsburg back into Avon territory.
Avon eventually took the ball back on a missed Bulldog field goal with about two minutes to go and no timeouts remaining.
With 47 seconds to go, Brownsburg stuffed an Avon run on 4th down and 2 at midfield, allowing the Bulldogs to kneel the clock out.
The win advances Brownsburg to the Sectional Final Nov. 8 at Zionsville.
