The Brownsburg varsity football team will travel to take on Hoosier Crossroads Conference Foe No. 13 Westfield this Friday. Action will kick off at 7 p.m. from Riverview Health Stadium.

Bulldog Bits

  • Last week, Brownsburg remained undefeated at home with a 42-17 Homecoming win over No. 6 Fishers
  • Brownsburg hasn't lost when playing at Westfield since 2006; the Bulldogs have won their last five matchups at Riverview Health Stadium
  • In HCC play, the Brownsburg defense has allowed 38 points; that number is good enough for second in the conference
  • QB Ben Easters threw five touchdowns in the Bulldogs' win over the Tigers; he is currently second in the HCC in passing touchdowns
  • Easters has the fewest interceptions among HCC QBs that have thrown for at least 700 yards this season
  • RB Donny Marcus' 75-yard rushing touchdown last week is the longest rushing attempt in the HCC this season
  • Last week's game was WR Luke Lacey's third multi touchdown game of the season
  • K/P Clay Chase currently has the second longest field goal among HCC kickers this season

About the Shamrocks

Westfield is 4-1 on the season and is coming off their first loss. Last week, the Shamrocks fell 34-10 to Hamilton Southeastern in HCC action.

The Shamrocks are led by a potent offensive attack. Westfield leads the HCC in points scored with 187 this season.

Until last week, the Shamrocks had scored at least 30 points in each of their games.

QB Camden Simons is second in the HCC in passing yards this year after reaching the 1,000-yard mark last week against HSE. Simons has thrown for at least 140 yards in all but one of the Shamrocks' games.

Five different WRs have touchdowns this year for Westfield.

The Westfield rushing attack is led by Eli Patchett who has amassed 411 yards and seven touchdowns this year.

Series History

Since the first year of the HCC back in 2001, Brownsburg and Westfield have played 18 times in the regular season.

Brownsburg leads the regular season series in that span by a 13-5 margin. The Bulldogs have won their last four matchups against Westfield.

The schools also met once in the IHSAA state tournament back in 2002. The Bulldogs came away with a 35-28 win in that matchup.

Last year, Brownsburg hosted the Shamrocks at Roark Stadium. The Bulldogs were able to sneak away with a 30-28 win as Westfield missed a field goal that would've won the game.

Former Bulldog WR and current Northwestern University football player Bryce Kirtz scored two touchdowns and totaled 246 yards in the win.
